Facing Challenges!

Self-publishing a book is not easy. As I wrote in my previous blog, Amazon is great at self-publishing, but it also has its drawbacks, and one is that the self-publishing is mainly in the Global West. Colleagues and friends in the Global South can hardly order the book at Amazon, as it will be way more costly to get the book to their country. This means that those who can least afford it, will have to pay way more for the privilege to read it. If you have any suggestions for publishers in the Global South, for example India, South Africa, Brazil, Kenya, Nigeria, Mexico, or any other country, please contact me and we can explore whether the book could be published there for distribution in the South. I am sure the price will be lower than you see on Amazon.

A second problem is that reviews at Amazon are only possible if you bought the book yourself, and if you have spent more than $50, £40 or €50 in the year leading up to your review. I have been contacted by several friends who have not been able to post a review of Evidence for Hope because of this restriction. All in all, no review has yet been posted on Amazon. Instead, friends have posted on Goodreads.com. Have a look there for a few reviews, and add one if you want to share this. Lastly, you can send a review to me and I will post it on this website!
